This amazing dosing coffee grinder is a popular choice among home baristas for its powerful motor, commercial-grade grinding burrs, and doser chamber. I was eager to put the Rancilio Rocky to the test. Its commercial pedigree and reputation for consistency made it an appealing choice. And after a lot of testing, I can confidently say this grinder delivers professional-level performance.

First, the grind quality is superb. The large burrs produce an even particle distribution with very few fines, resulting in balanced extractions. I routinely achieve sweet, complex shots competing my local cafe. Micro-adjustments to the stepless conical burr chamber allow fine-tuning for different beans.

Output is exceptionally consistent from dose to dose. I never experienced clumping or variances in yield. Doser and tumbler provide a tidy presentation of grounds right into the portafilter. This level of precision is what I expect from a machine in this price class.

While not the fastest grinder at this level, its durability is legendary. I had one put in my kitchen and given how often I’m cleaning, adjusting and testing shots, this is critical peace of mind. Simply put, it just works.

For home baristas demanding pro-level workflow and coffee quality, the Rancilio Rocky coffee grinder can’t be beaten. It gives me the perfect coffee grinds to pull fantastic shots all the time.
