French Press 

The French press coffee maker has a simple yet an effective design. Yet, it's not easy to use for beginners. You have to be slow and steady using it, or you'll end up with a terrible cup of coffee. 

The French press coffee maker produces strong coffee, that's why you have to be ready for it. Plus, you should note that the mesh filter is not as fine as a paper filter, so some coffee grounds may find their way into your cup. But hey, that's just evidence that you're having real coffee. Here are some hints to help you use French press machine in the right way:

1. Use freshly roasted coffee beans.

2. Use the right amount of coffee; The general rule of thumb is to use one tablespoon of coffee for each four ounces of water. But you may adjust this ratio to your liking.

3.The water temperature must be around 200°F (93°C). If the water is too hot, it can burn the coffee and provide a bitter taste.

4. The coffee should steep for about four minutes. If you leave it in too long, the coffee will be bitter. If you take it out too soon, the coffee will be weak.

5. Stir the coffee prior to plunging. After the coffee has steeped, stir it so that grounds are evenly distributed. This will provide an even taste.

6. Slowly and steadily plunge when you are ready. Do not rush it or press too hard or else you will have a mess to clean.

7. Pour immediately: Once you've dunked the coffee, pour it immediately into your cup. If you just sit on the coffee in the French press, it will over-extract and become bitter.
