N.B.: Any maintenance beyond cleaning should be carried out by an authorized service representative.
Run The Grinder
Run the grinder for 10 seconds with an empty bean hopper to clear beans/grounds from the burrs and grounds chute. After this step, unplug the grinder. Always unplug your grinder before initiating the cleaning process. It is imperative to unplug the power cord from the outlet before removing or replacing the hopper.
Remove Hopper
Turn the knob inside the hopper counterclockwise until it clicks. The "trap door" feature will secure the beans inside while the hopper is being removed.
Remove Upper Burr
Clear any coffee beans from between the grinder burrs. To remove the upper burr, lift the metal burr handle, twist counterclockwise, and then pull straight up. Note that only the upper burr is removable.
Clean Burrs and Grounds Chute
Utilize a small bristle brush for cleaning. Under no circumstances should water or other liquids be used to clean the inside of the grinder/burrs.
Replace Upper Burr
Align the indents in the burr with the tabs inside the lower burr. Turn clockwise until the burr clicks into place. To confirm proper installation, pull the handle straight up. If positioned correctly, the burr will remain in place.
Wipe Base and Body
Clean the exterior of the grinder with a soft, damp cloth.
Replace Hopper
Align the tabs of the hopper with the notches in the grinder. Gently press down and turn the knob clockwise until the hopper locks into place.
Hand Wash Hopper and Grounds Container
Rinse and dry thoroughly. Avoid using abrasive pads, harsh chemicals, or spray cleaner chemicals, as these may damage the appliance. The grinder parts should not be placed in the dishwasher.

Caring for Your Grinder
Let the grinder cool for at least two minutes after each use. If the grinder is used for more than five minutes within a 10-minute period, it may become inoperable for 30 minutes. Once cooled, the grinder may be used again.
Clear grounds from the chute before each use if the grinder is not used regularly. To clear the chute, run the grinder for 10 seconds before adding beans and then discard the grounds.
Use Fresh Beans. Old/dry beans can create static, leading to dust sticking to the walls of the grinder. Avoid storing beans in the bean hopper for an extended period. It is recommended to grind only coffee in this grinder.
Never exceed the fill line when filling the grounds container, as excess grounds can block the grounds chute and jam the burrs.
By following the precise cleaning steps outlined above, you can remove stubborn residue, prevent flavor contamination, and extend the lifespan of your beloved grinder. Remember to establish a regular cleaning routine, incorporating both daily maintenance and deeper cleaning sessions. Treat your OXO Brew Coffee Grinder with the care it deserves, and it will reward you with aromatic, flavorful cups of coffee for years to come.
